Selenology is the scientific study of the Earth's Moon (Luna). While this technically encompasses all areas of Lunar study, it typically refers to the study of the solid material of the Moon. Similar to geology, the study of Earth's solid material, selenology studies the composition and processes of Lunar rocks. Geology is often used to refer to the study of the solid material of any natural object in space (planets, moons, etc.). While socially correct, the use of geology for all objects does show an Earth-centric bias.

Selenology is also the name of the journal of the American Lunar Society.
