In Situ HVAC

We need a solution for this made with local materials. How much could we do with fibreglass for seals and filtration (need to get regolith particles out of the air)? -- Strangelv 18:13, 3 June 2011 (UTC)

People might use fiber glass for filtering lunar air supplies or filtering gasses for industrial use. Different glass composition and different fiber forming techniques would be used for filters than for high strength reinforcement for composite materials. Low temperature melting helps produce easy handling. Fineness of fiber and rapid production would be more important than strength.
People might use oxygen gas for a refrigerant. It does not have such handy properties as freon, but on Luna it will be much cheaper once production is started. Leaked oxygen can be replaced. - User:Farred from 207.224.85.91 00:45, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
