Should we drop returning to the Moon and focus on Earth Science?

Controversial Question:

Should we now be spending money to return to the Moon or should we be spending most of those resources to study climate change?

Pro Climate Change:

A large number of politicians and people in the entertainment business claim that the best available scientific evidence indicates that the activities of human being are creating global warming. At the same time slow natural climate change is continuing. We need massive amounts of scientific data over long periods of time to provide a sound basis for concerted action.

Pro Moon:

We must keep our opinions open and our vision of the future clear and outward. To stop human space exploration now would be to limit civilization for many generations to come. Once abandoned, it will be very hard to restart.
