The '''Space Solar Alliance for Future Energy''' (SSAFE) is a coalition of thirteen organizations pursuing the findings of the [[Space-Based Solar Power Interim Assessment]].  Both were announced on 10 October 2007 by the [[National Security Space Office]] and the [[National Space Society]].


==Purpose== 
The alliance was formed to support the development of space-based solar power as a way to provide a renewable, non-polluting, and carbon-neutral energy solution that reduces dependance on oil-producing countries.
