&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;This data reduction procedure for LOLA data is specifically designed for students.  It produces a contour map of altitude with colored dots showing the slope.  Professional software for this task is not expected to become available at the student level in mid 2011 or 2012.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The specific example provided is the peak of Mount Malapert.  This is a prime location for a lunar settlement.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
This process is being developed as a Open Design effort.  Input from anyone interested will be appreciated.&lt;br /&gt;
