trmonalcersi Best known as Command Module Pilot on Apollo-11, the first mission to land humans on the surface of the Moon. Collins remained in lunar orbit in the Command Module "Columbia", while Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin descended to the lunar surface in the Lunar Module "Eagle".

Collins also flew in Earth orbit in Gemini-10.
