Welcome to Lunarpedia! Don't worry about proofreading. If you've created a mess, just add the {{Cleanup}} tag. -- Strangelv 03:02, 3 March 2007 (PST)

Now we know who the seinsble one is here. Great post!

Wham bam thank you, ma’am, my qsuetions are answered!

Scientifiction dot org, Marspedia dot org, and 'Unnamed Space Dictionary Wiki'

I can't remember if I told you about Thursday Space Chat in NSS MOO (two moves from the Commons in ASI MOO -- NSS then W). It has often served as the de facto board for Lunarpedia (the Moon Society Board of Directors and Leadership Committee have been interested, but have been very hands-off, possibly fearful of harming the promising looking goose).

It was decided there this evening to move fiction content from Lunarpedia to a different wiki specifically designed for the purpose. The name we picked was scientifiction dot org which is now set up and ready. While I plan on having the wiki fully integrated with Lunarpedia, Marspedia, and a probable dictionary wiki we couldn't come up with a satisfactory name for (plus a likely general space wiki, especially if the NSS wants to join in the fun), the user databases will be separate, so you'll need to set up an account in each one, especially scientifiction. As of when I type this there's just me and WikiSysop, an account only really to be used to set up the first bureaucrat/sysop and to perform certain functions at a system maintenance level that would be performed by Mike or Dana.

I'd jump right in, but I'm mostly asleep. The front page is locked against unregistered users and points here, but other than that it's a clean slate ready for tailoring.

Note that the question of where to draw the line on adult situations is still not definitively answered.

It's probably a good idea to avoid listing or linking to marspedia or scientifiction anywhere until the sites are ready to show up in search engines.

I certainly recognize the right of a board to bring some order to this wiki. Complete chaos is useless. However, I think it is way too early to split Lunarpedia.

The stories list I have been working is not a general discussion of Science Fiction. The stories are very specific to building a lunar settlement. Current SF is either Star War's with swords and unnecessary wars, or very dark mind games between humans and machines. It has no place for simply studying the idea of people living on the Moon.

The story idea is very much an out-of-box experiment. As such, it has only a very small chance of success. I have not yet got one comment on an actual story, but it is early days yet.

I may have to add one hundred ideas to Lunarpedia to get just one that works. After that I will probably have to only add fifty. The odd thing is that just two or three really good ideas could get us back to the moon.

For the time being I will forge ahead. I will depend on you to let me know when I should cool my jets.

Tom, it looks like Scientification.org is basically up and running. It would be great if you could post fiction there. Thanks.Charles F. Radley 14:18, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

I still cannot find a working link to Scientification.org.

Sorry, my error, it is Scientifiction.org --- http://Scientifiction.org You will also notice the link in the left hand pane of every page on Lunarpedia :-) Charles F. Radley 21:24, 10 June 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to Lunarpedia!. I seem to be running a bit behind lately. Looking forward to working with you. Jarogers2001 18:58, 9 March 2007 (PST)

Communication Merge Proposal

I suggest to merge the page Communication with Earthside Communication, they cover identical subect matter. Charles F. Radley 18:15, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Featured Article

I've merged Volatile Scavenging with Volatiles, cleaned it up a little and it is now featured on the front page. Good work, Tom! - Jarogers2001 13:39, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
