Reasoning

This was Tesla's original recommendation to Westinghouse. The voltage was halved for political considerations in allowing its deployment.

Compatibility with Terrestrial specifications

There is a great deal of Terrestrial products that will run on a power grid using this specification.

No break from legacy considerations

Increased copper usage

Copper is believed to be in short supply on Luna
