You have to go into whichever category you want to put somewhere, edit it and give it a category.  For instance, i went into [[Food]] and added category tags for Agriculture and Life Support.  Now it shows up in the expansion of both of those main categories.  To create a Main category, go into a category and tag it as category main.  -- [[User:Jarogers2001|Jarogers2001]] 20:54, 17 March 2007 (PDT)

I wish I could find a better way, the "Create an article to this category" button adds the category tag, the "Create a category" button does not.
