A listing of Lunar Architecture Entries
There are many ways we could go about building a lunar base. Here are just a few of them along with some critical design considerations.
Architectures
- Architecture as Mole Hills
- The living space could be inflated structures buried in trenches.
- Architecture as Tent City
- We could use tents to protect inflated living space.
- Architecture in Field Stone
- The loose rocks of the Moon could provide the needed thermal and radiation protection.
Supporting Architecture
Here are a few ideas on building lunar settlements.
- Meteor Hazards
- Things can fall on your head.
- Radiation Problem
- Protections we take for granted on Earth must be intentionally provided.
- Roof Support
- Can the internal air pressure support the roof?
- Power for Settlements
- Electrical power is the key to survival.
- Site Selection
- Choosing a good site may be the most important decision you have to make.
- Slopes
- Nothing on the Moon is truly flat.
