Erring on the side of including everything also eliminated the need to have a contentious debate over what elements to include (I've seen too many of those and have been glad we haven't for awhile -- fiction on Lunarpedia and the logo for Marspedia come painfully to mind as topics that got far more heated than I had any clue to anticipate), as not all cases are as clear as Ununoctium or Oxygen, and as Wikipedia has demonstrated, if there's any conceivable reason for someone declaring something should be deleted, it will happen -- and we don't want that sort of thing going on here. Also, given the script that created everything, it wasn't exactly a great amount of marginal work to include this element -- most of the work was the sunken cost of writing the script and stuffing together the database it used. | ||

Is there a reason for elements like Ununoctium to be on Lunarpedia? They aren't "real" in the sense that they do not occcur naturally. They therefore definatly aren't available on the moon and they don't have any uses. Maybe a merge to a list of "Articficial heavy elements"? T.Neo 07:44, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
- The existence of this article and others for elements we've not seen non-fleeting isotopes for is more or less a result of how we structured things. Erring on the side of including everything also eliminated the need to have a contentious debate over what elements to include (I've seen too many of those and have been glad we haven't for awhile -- fiction on Lunarpedia and the logo for Marspedia come painfully to mind as topics that got far more heated than I had any clue to anticipate), as not all cases are as clear as Ununoctium or Oxygen, and as Wikipedia has demonstrated, if there's any conceivable reason for someone declaring something should be deleted, it will happen -- and we don't want that sort of thing going on here.
