Located at the Eastern Shore facility in Virginia, the debut launch from the spaceport was an Air Force [[Minotaur 1]] rocket, carrying experimental military and NASA satellites into orbit, on December 16, 2006.    The Pentagon has scheduled 2 more launches of Minotaur 1 rockets to send up satellites from this facility.  Nasa and a private aerospace company are planning to test a new launch vehicle at Mid-Atlantic Regional.  Nasa also provides command and control support for the spaceport.
