A technical dictionary published in the mid 1960s, SP-7 was edited by William H. Allen.

It was based on the NASA Aeronautical Dictionary, the Air Force Dictionary, and the Aerospace Glossary, with more than 200 specialists selecting the terms and reviewing them for accuracy.

Other sources included the Navigation Dictionary, the Glossary of Arctic and Subarctic Terms, the Definitions of Terms Used in Geodetic and Other Surveys, the Glossary of Meteorology of the American Meteorological Society and publications of the Inter-Range Instrumentation Group.
