Lunar Orbiter

Lunar Orbiter was a series of missions by the United States to orbit and map the moon, prior to the Apollo landings. The first of these, Lunar Orbiter 1, launched on August 10, 1966 and entering lunar orbit on August 18. The final mission in the series, Lunar Orbiter 5, launched on August 1 1967
