Telemetry of the vital signs is important. A worker in a protective suit in a hostile environment should have a buddy monitoring her condition and the suit's condition just in case she is not sufficiently attentive and misses a danger indication on her own display. The worker can be warned to head for the air lock or a rescue team can rush in to retrieve her.
