Spudis has been involved with several lunar missions, including analysis of data from the Clementine orbiter, the new NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mission, and India's Chandrayaan-1 mission where Spudis is principle investigator for a radar mapping instrument to try to confirm the presence of water ice at the lunar poles.
