Alkali Metal
A metal in group IA of the periodic system; namely, lithium,
sodium, potassium, rubidium, cesium, and francium. Alkali metals
have been considered as coolants (in liquid state) for nuclear reactors for spacecraft. See
liquid-metal corrosion.
