Physicist and former professor at Princeton's Institute for Advanced Study, Freeman Dyson is well known in space circles for his wide-ranging ideas, from the nuclear bomb propulsion craft he worked on in the 1950's to the concept of a Dyson sphere capturing much of the energy from a sun-like star. He has recently explored the potential for life to exist on remote cometary worlds, detectable through reflections from their solar collection surfaces.
Freeman Dyson is the author of a number of books, including Disturbing the Universe and Infinite in All Directions, which included essays on the development of space.
