Paul Spudis

A lunar geologist working at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab, formerly associated with the Lunar and Planetary Research Institute.

Spudis has been involved with several lunar missions, including analysis of data from the Clementine orbiter, the new NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter mission, and India's Chandrayan-1 mission where Spudis is principle investigator for a radar mapping instrument to try to confirm the presence of water ice at the lunar poles.

Spudis was one of the members of the Aldridge Commission in 2004, which studied the implementation of President Bush's "New Vision for Space Exploration".

Author of ``The Once and Future Moon and one or two other books.
